What an expired licence changes
Less than people expect, deliberately.

- Existing policies still evaluate. Existing workflows still refuse to run ungoverned. Retention keeps whatever window it was given. Every security control is untouched, because none of them was ever tied to a licence.

- Adding or changing paid features — new workflows and policies, new profiles, configuration transfer, audit export, retention changes.

- Plugin updates and support for the add-on.
Turning enforcement off on expiry would mean billing could quietly widen what agents are allowed to do. RuleFence does not do that, and the free plugin’s controls do not lapse at all.
How to renew
- Open RuleFence › Licence in your WordPress admin and copy your licence key.
- Complete the renewal for the plan and site count you need.
- The key reactivates on your site, and the paid capabilities become editable again.
Staging and local development copies of a licensed production site do not consume an extra activation.
Changing plan at renewal
Renewal is a good moment to change scope rather than a reason to keep the one you have. Pro covers one or five production sites; Agency covers twenty-five, or one WordPress Network with fleet governance.
Trouble renewing
If a key will not reactivate, or you are not sure which plan a site is on, send us the site URL and the key and we will sort it out. Do not post a licence key anywhere public.
